While observing my daughter’s lessons with Polly, I became excited and wanted my own! I had studied as a youngster, and it has been fun for me to improve my technique and learn new repertoire with Polly. She goes the extra mile in finding duet and trio partners and organizing performance opportunities for her students, and has even tackled jazz and improv with me. I would heartily recommend her for ANY age student. She makes music fun! — Deb Koziarz

“My daughter Hannah has been a student of Polly’s for 5 years. During that time I have seen her confidence grow as Polly gently pushes and instructs her in the technical aspects of the flute. In addition, Polly has brought out in Hannah an ability to bring a piece of music to life, which makes a mother proud. I highly recommend Polly as a flute teacher.” — Carol Smith

“Thank you for the opportunities you have given Sari in such a short time as her teacher/mentor. Rob and I feel so fortunate that you are teaching Sari so much more than she could have gotten in school. She is not only learning flute, but also some very valuable life lessons regarding accepting challenges, pushing the limit, and the power of self-motivation. We have stressed that the great skills she has developed come from heart and desire. We couldn’t do it without your help. So, thanks again for all you have done. She has certainly come a long way in a very short time. We are so excited about what may come in the future. ” — Rhonda Lindner

“I’d like to thank you so much for all you have taught me over the years. I have learned so much mentally that improved my physical playing. Without your assistance I would not be in the same position and as successful as I am and have been. Just recently, I proudly accepted the [band] recognition award. I thought of you when I received this because you’ve been a main component to my successes. Thank you so much for all of your help.” — Paige F.

Jett’s last lesson before going off to college… “I cannot thank you enough for the many years you’ve devoted to teaching me the flute. From the counting drills to the old Gilbert and Sullivan books to the bossa novas I have grown so much because of your instruction, help, and motivation. I do not know what I will do without you in band in college, but I know that I could not be better prepared thanks to you.” — Jett L.

Polly and Sari 2015.

Suzanne Feinstein’s last lesson before heading off to college. I would like to thank my private teacher Polly Hansen, for helping me with this piece each week during lessons and providing me with my current musical knowledge. She has helped me develop a great love for French flute music and jazz, which I have often explored with her during lessons. I would also like to thank her for her help in getting me to the level of playing where I am today as she has been my teacher for seven years. — Suzanne Feinstein, High School Junior, May 2013

“Another great year has passed filled with many great accomplishments and surprises. Thank you so much for helping me with all my recitals, auditions, and scales. It’s always great working with you, and each year gets better and better. Have an amazing summer and see you in August!” Sari Lindner, High School Freshman June 2013
